Leadership styles

We completed a Leadership Style Assessment to give us an idea of our own style.
I predicted I was a 'coach' however I came out a very all rounded leader, scoring the same for the following styles:

• Democratic
• Affiliative
• Coaching

I was pleasantly surprised when reading the break down of pros and cons of all styles.

Ideas.....

I would like opinions please on my idea for my leadership challenge. I am the PE departments exceptionally able link, therefore I thought it was appropriate to make this my area of topic.
My ideas; What support do you (the exceptionally able) think you get in PE? Also, do they exceptionally able, know they are?

I would have a meeting with all EA students, ask them these questions and give them a questionnaire to fill in. Then for my leadership challenge I would discuss with the PE department ways of us challenging them and put this in to place. Examples of this:

• Coaching roles
• Different exam questions in theory lessons
• Trips
• Help out at festivals and extra curricular clubs

At the end of the project have another meeting and establish whether these methods have been effective/appropriate/beneficial for them.

1st ever blog post!

Having just finished my first day on the developing leaders course at Biddulph High School, I feel to ready to embark on the challenge. Lots of things to think about, reflect on and develop.
Exciting times ahead I think.
